Transitioning to my NEW Normal

Living in a place called Grateful

Living in a place called Grateful

Got some really great fantastic and wonderfully joyous news to share . I received a kidney transplant on Feb 21st. Many of you might not know that I had End Stage Renal Disease(ESRD). What it means in English is that my kidneys stopped working to filter and clean my blood. The also did not make urine any more. I have been on dialysis for 12 yrs. Yes 12 years. Ten of those years i no longer made pee. No wee-wee.

But thanks be to God my 12 years with an issue of blood has ended. I have transitioned to my new normal. So i am writing this from UAB transplant floor. I have had this new kidney for 6 days. I had to remember what it is like to urinate.:0  After 10 years it is a strange sensation. But I like it.   So I will write some reg post and then some Transition to new normal post.

I never lost my faith and trust in God. I would ask him from time to time do you see me. He would answer yes. I continued to do the work that God had commissioned me to do as His ambassador. Now I will forge ahead with even more zeal and wisdom. So excited for my transition and my blessing.

Must mention the family that lost the loved one that had the kidney. I bless them for their forethought. To think ahead in a time of such great loss. To want to improve the life of a total stranger while in your own grief. That is love ,pure love of Christ. I pray for them and thank them so so much.

By the way I named my new kidney Sophia. I like to name stuff and I love that name. Me and Sophia are planning a trip out of the country by next year. Lots of things to do and see and share. Be blessed and remember that God knows the end from the beginning. When He created you He knew your ups and downs. He made provision for you. Allow Him to work his will and way out in your life as you transition to your new normal. And like I always say:

Weekend update

Hello Family,

Attended a women’s conference this weekend in Birmingham at McComb Chapel AME Zion Church . The theme was “Matters of the Heart.” it was great. Women from different denominations, ages came together around the commonality of Jesus Christ. It was so good. The women of McComb chapel were so gracious and beautiful.  I was the MC for Friday and spoke and prayed  on the forgiving and repentant heart on Saturday.  The word was powerful and hit it mark.  Thank God for women on the front lines.

I twisted my ankle on friday before the trip to Birmingham really got started. I was over Ms Minnies to pick up some ladies that we attending the conference. I stepped off the curb and onto some uneven concrete and ouch, I twisted my ankle. My foot was swollen so big it looked like a hobbits foot.Only not quite as hairy  Got a big gigantic boot and two crutches for my devil kicking efforts.  But I still went on to the conference.  I knew that if I did not go forward with the work off the Lord the enemy would have thought he won. So we went on down to Birmingham, preached and prayed.  Bam!! Pow!!! Gave the devil a black eye and put the good foot down on his head. Devil butt kicked God glorified -Priceless- now I call that  great weekend.  Still on my grind for God. We have a world to win and a God to glorify.

You Don’t Have to Fall!??

I attend the College Hill BC School of Wisdom on Thursday. It is a very interesting class where we discuss the bible and how to apply it to our lives. Thursday’s discussion was the Fruit of the Spirit. We were discussing that to produce fruit and more fruit you have to stay connected to the vine-Jesus Christ. We also were talking about erroneous songs that are not supported by the Bible.

Now don’t get ready to stone me . “We fall down and we get up” Donnie McClurkin  has been an easy out for a lot of people. Also -“If you find anything in me ,take it away Lord”. Wrong again.

Before you start talking about the grace of God and that He made provision for my mistakes, read this scripture 2Peter 1:10.

Therefore, my brothers, be all the more eager to make your calling and election
sure. For if you do these things, you will never fall,(NIV)

Therefore, brothers, be all the more diligent to make your calling and election
sure, for if you practice these qualities you will never fall.(ESV)

Why the rather, brothers, give diligence to make your calling and election sure:
for if you do these things, you shall never fall(AKJV)

Look at that. The Bible says that if you practice these things you will not fall. What things is He instructing us to practice. Give heed to,practice these things shown in vs 4 and below

4 has granted to us His precious and magnificent promises, so that by them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world by lust.5Now for this very reason also, applying all diligence, in your faith supply moral excellence, and in your moral excellence, knowledge,6 and in your knowledge, self-control, and in your self-control, perseverance, and in your perseverance, godliness,7 and in your godliness, brotherly kindness, and in your brotherly kindness, love.8For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they render you neither useless nor unfruitful in the true knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.9For he who lacks these qualities is blind or short-sighted, having forgotten his purification from his former sins.10Therefore, brethren, be all the more diligent to make certain about His calling and choosing you; for as long as you practice these things, you will never stumble;11 for in this way the entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be abundantly supplied to you. NASB © 1995 by The Lockman Foundation

Practice these things. make them your second,(scratch that), your first nature. When you continually give heed to these qualities and attributes you do not have to fall. You do not have to sin. You will not have to fall and get back up. It is due to a lack of practice that our skills of resisting the devil and not yielding to the flesh become dull and of no use. If we follow the directions that God has laid forth in the Bible we will miss the shipwrecks of life. You won’t have the testimony that I fell but I made it back. Yur tetimony willbe I was kept by the Word of God and my obedience to it. You can live a triumphant Christian life in this world. Wow. How about we try that in 2013?

I know that I will get emails and comments but that’s OK. The Word is the Word. Application of the Word of God to our situations and circumstances is much-needed and very necessary.
